Prayer....
At the heart of the Christian faith is a relationship with our living and loving God who is made known to us in many different ways. One expression of Christian spirituality is the experience of prayer, in which we encounter God through the Holy Spirit.
Prayer may simply be a silent opening of our hearts and minds to God, who longs for us to understand and experience the depth of his love for each one of us, regardless of our background.
Prayer may also involve pouring out our concerns to God, either in spoken words or in the silence of our hearts. At times we may pray for ourselves or for others who are in need, asking for healing, wholeness, forgiveness or peace. At other times prayer may express our thankfulness for the good things we have experienced, or our wonder and amazement at the beauty of creation.
Whatever our experience of prayer, it is our aim at St. Andrews to help one another to discover more.
....and care
At St Andrews we encourage all church members to belong to a
disciple group. These are small groups that meet weekly to study the
bible, pray together and support and care for each other. If you would
like to join a group please contact Heather Graham or David Foster via
the church office.
We also have a pastoral team and a visiting team, who offer care and
prayer for the sick and those going through difficult times. This work
is backed up on the practical side, by members of the congregation
who have committed to helping with meals, babysitting, lifts and a
number of other areas on an occasional basis.
As part of our support of family life we also run parenting and
marriage enrichment courses from time to time.
